JESUS CARES

MEMORISE: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. – 1 Peter 5:7

BIBLE READING: Mark 4:37-39

37 And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

38 And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?

39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

MESSAGE:

In today’s Bible reading, Jesus’ disciples faced a great storm and ran to Him for help, asking, “Do you not care that we perish?” Jesus was not surprised by their faithlessness; first, He addressed the problem by rebuking the wind and restoring calmness to the sea. Then, he turned to them to address the matter of their faith.

This shows the caring nature of our Lord. He addresses issues one at a time to emphasise that He cares about us, His children. When we pray, He either answers us quickly or gives us a perfect answer later. Therefore, no matter what happens in the world or in your life, you can always run to Jesus for safety because He cares for you.

Many times, I have had to look up to Jesus for help, and He has never failed me. Jesus cares so much for you, and it is His will that you live an abundant life (John 10:10). My dear child, any time you feel overwhelmed by any issue, just open your Bible and search for any scripture that talks about your situation. Meditate on it, and rest assured that God will help you to overcome the situation.

REFLECTION:
Do you truly believe that God cares about you?
