MEMORISE: And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied. Acts 19:6
BIBLE READING: John 16:7-13
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:
9 Of sin, because they believe not on me;
10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;
11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
MESSAGE:
One of the things I have enjoyed in my walk with God is a close walk with the Holy Spirit. A popular hymn my wife and I love to sing is:
Thou my everlasting portion, more than friend or life to me, all along my pilgrim journey, Saviour let me walk with you. Close to thee, close to thee; Close to thee, close to thee, All along my pilgrim journey, Saviour let me walk with you. Immediately after we gave our lives to Christ, we began thirsting for sanctification and the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This curiosity grew in us daily, and we acquired many books on the topic. In fact, my wife received the baptism of the Holy Spirit after reading one of those books. By the time I eventually experienced His baptism, I had become so close to the Holy Spirit.
My dear child, you need to be close to the Holy Spirit if you want to live a victorious and fulfilling life. He knows God’s perfect plan for your life, and He has been sent to guide you in all your endeavours so that you will not make grave mistakes in your academic pursuits and other areas of your life.
Quiz: …………….helps Christians live victoriously above sin on a daily basis.
KEY POINT:
Those who befriend the Holy Spirit will always receive His guidance.
