DILIGENCE BRINGS REWARD

•

MEMORISE: The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat. – Proverbs 13:4

BIBLE READING: Proverbs 10:4-5

4 He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.

5 He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame.

MESSAGE:

One benefit we have as Christians is that we have a great inheritance as descendants of Abraham. He was God’s diligent and faithful friend who trained others, built altars to worship Him, and even interceded for an entire town because of his nephew, Lot. To enjoy the blessings of Abraham, we must also be hardworking and faithful, like he was. I believe Isaac prospered in Gerar despite all the challenges he faced (Genesis 26:22), because he must have learnt how to be hardworking from his father:

If you want to enjoy God’s blessings, you must play your own part; you must not be lazy. You must keep yourself busy with productive things. The extent to which you be lazy. You must keep yourself busy with productive things. The extent to which you fulfil destiny and enjoy God’s inheritance will be determined by the effort you put in. It is not enough to go around singing, “Abraham’s blessings are mine,” while you do nothing. Be ready to put in the work, and you will enjoy the blessings of Abraham.

KEY POINT:
God does not reward lazy people.
