MESSAGE:
Today’s memory verse emphasises on the importance of being watchful (vigilant) and prayerful because the time of the Lord’s return is near, and it will be tragic to be caught unawares. The call to watchfulness is tied to prayer and spiritual readiness. It is a call to be on guard and alert in readiness for the coming of our Saviour. It is also a warning against complacency, backsliding, and a lack of spiritual awareness.
My dear child, watch out! The devil will do all he can to try to lure you away from your eternal reward with your heavenly Father. He will use negative peer pressure, lies, sexual temptation, material things, false teachers and prophets, et cetera. Do not fall for his wiles; instead, work out your salvation daily with fear and trembling (Philippians 2:12).
