LIVING SACRIFICE

MEMORISE: I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1

BIBLE READING: Romans 12:1-2

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

MESSAGE:

Lord, prepare me, A sanctuary Pure and Holy, Tried and true. With thanksgiving, I’ll be a living sanctuary for You.

This is one of the songs I taught some teenagers in the 1990s, and its lyrics always resonate with me. Being a living sacrifice goes beyond attending church programmes; it means offering your entire life, including your actions, words, and thoughts, to God. For example, if your friend suggests that you engage in an act to make more money, but you, as a child of God, know that it’s an ungodly act, you would refuse the suggestion because you are a living sacrifice.

As a living sacrifice, you have to surrender your actions to God daily. Dedicate each day of your life to Him, and seek His guidance when you want to make any decisions. I can assure you that, as you do this, you will experience the fulfilment that comes from being a living sacrifice.

REFLECTION:
Are you a living sacrifice?
