MEMORISE: Wash you, make you clean… – Isaiah 1:16
BIBLE READING: Deuteronomy 23:14
14 For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.
MESSAGE:
No matter how anointed a fellow is, if he or she has poor hygiene, wears dirty clothes, has body odour, or lives in a dirty environment, people will find it difficult to associate with him or her.
When I started serving as a full-time pastor in Lagos, I had to leave my mansion in llorin to come and stay in a one-room apartment in Mushin, a suburb of Lagos. Initially, I was uncomfortable because the environment was very dirty, being a semi-slum; however, my Father in the Lord taught me how to make it habitable for myself. My wife remained with the children in llorin, so I washed the gutters, cleaned the window frames, washed my toilets, and scrubbed my bathroom all by myself.
It is ridiculous to see Christians who go about looking beautiful, yet their rooms are in a mess. When you enter the room of some teenagers, you will find clothes and books on their beds, dirty plates under their beds, and litter everywhere in their rooms. My dear child, if you cannot tidy up your room now that you are young, it means that you will be a dirty adult.
