MEMORISE: And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. – 1 Corinthians 11:24
BIBLE READING: 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, that the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:
24 And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.
25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.
26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.
27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.
28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.
29 For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord’s body.
MESSAGE:
There is a tendency to forget the passion of our Lord Jesus Christ, which led to His death and resurrection. In fact, a major reason people backslide is connected to the fact that they forget the agony of death which the Saviour suffered for our salvation.
When Jesus said we should observe the Holy Communion often in remembrance of Him, it was because He knew what it would take to die for us, and He didn’t want His sacrifice to be forgotten. The Holy Communion should be taken as frequently as possible to enable us to remember the death of our Lord JesUs Christ and the reason for it.
This meal that comprises the body and blood of Jesus is the most powerful meal on the earth. By the grace of God, I overcame chronic malaria becausel keyed into the power of this meal. Are you in need of a major breakthrough in your health or any other area of your life? I want to enjoin you to partake of the Holy Communion often and take the meal worthily, that is, without sin.
KEY POINT:
Take the Holy Communion worthily and by faith.
